چکیده
Abstract The most relevant criticalities of parts produced by material extrusion additive manufacturing technologies are lower mechanical properties than standard performances, the presence pores caused method, and issues related to interface between layers rods. In this context, heat treatments can be considered an effective solution for tailoring behavior different application fields, especially when using precipitation hardening stainless steels. work, aging were conducted on realized three extrusion-based processes: Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing, bound metal deposition, fused filament fabrication. Two conditions direct (H900 H1150) with aim comparing response in opposite peak-aged overaged. hardness tests revealed that H900 significantly influenced (max increase 52%), porosity (− 34.3% respect as-sintered condition). On other hand, H1150 decreased 18% max) 32.2% max). Substantial differences among microstructures due grain size δ-ferrite illustrated. A statistical test was included better highlight influence treatment investigated properties.

متن کاملMechanical Properties of Austenitic Stainless Steel Made by Additive Manufacturing
Using uniaxial tensile and hardness testing, we evaluated the variability and anisotropy of the mechanical properties of an austenitic stainless steel, UNS S17400, manufactured by an additive process, selective laser melting. Like wrought materials, the mechanical properties depend on the orientation introduced by the processing. The recommended stress-relief heat treatment increases the tensil...
متن کاملA Novel Extrusion-based Additive Manufacturing Process for Ceramic Parts
An extrusion-based additive manufacturing process, called the Ceramic On-Demand Extrusion (CODE) process, for producing three-dimensional ceramic components with near theoretical density is introduced in this paper. In this process, an aqueous paste of ceramic particles with a very low binder content (<1 vol%) is extruded through a moving nozzle at room temperature. After a layer is deposited, ...
متن کاملEvaluation of a digitised splinting approach with multiple-material functionality using Additive Manufacturing technologies
The design and fabrication of custom-made wrist immobilisation splints can be a laborious process. In addition, patient adherence in terms of wear duration and frequency may be affected by a range of contributing factors including poor aesthetics, hygiene issues and fit. This paper suggests the use of additive manufacturing (AM) in a bid to resolve factors affecting adherence and improve the ef...
متن کاملResidual stress measurements via neutron diffraction of additive manufactured stainless steel 17-4 PH
Neutron diffraction was employed to measure internal residual stresses at various locations along stainless steel (SS) 17-4 PH specimens additively manufactured via laser-powder bed fusion (L-PBF). Of these specimens, two were rods (diameter=8 mm, length=80 mm) built vertically upward and one a parallelepiped (8×80×9 mm3) built with its longest edge parallel to ground. One rod and the parallele...
